How Did Julia Belmont Die In The Series?
In Castlevania: Nocturne, there’s a particularly tragic scene where Julia Belmont and her young son, Richter, are walking down a street in Boston. Out of nowhere, they’re ambushed by a vampire. It’s none other thanOrlox, a vampirewith a personal vendetta against Julia. Despite Julia’s best efforts to protect herself and her son using her magical abilities, she’s overwhelmed by Orlox’s power.
The scene is heart-wrenching as the young Richter, just ten years old, witnesses his mother’s downfall right in the middle of the city street. Orlox wasn’t attacking Julia randomly. There’s a history between them. Orlox had been in love with a man who was a Mohican revolutionary and a believer in freedom.

In his desire to spend eternity with his loved one, Orlox turned this man into one of his kind. However, the Mohican man (now a vampire) was killed by Julia Belmont herself. With his loved one gone, Orlox sought revenge and found it in the tragic scene where he confronts and overpowers Julia, leaving young Richter to carry on the Belmont legacy.
