Regardless of which game you play online, there’s one thing all gamers hate, and that’s cheaters. Unfortunately, that’s something that’s ever-evolving, as cheat makers find new ways to circumvent the security systems developers put into their games to prevent this from happening.

ForCall of Duty: Black Ops 7,Activision is introducing several new security measures on PC to combat cheaters.

Black Ops 7 To Require TPM 2.0 And Secure Boot

Activisionhas announced that with the start of Season 5 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone, which starts tomorrow, August 7, both Secure Boot and Trust Platform Module 2.0 requirements will be added to the PC version of the game.

Activision says that PC players without TPM 2.0 enabled may receive an in-game notification indicating their system does not meet the new security requirements when launching applicable Call of Duty games.

While TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are not currently required to play available Call of Duty games, Activision notes that both features will be required to run Black Ops 7 when it launches later this year. The publisher says, “Keeping these settings enabled ensures a fair and fun experience for all players.”

If you’re wondering why both are needed, Activision states that TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot will help protect your PC against cheats and unauthorized access by verifying your system’s integrity from startup to gameplay. These two will work alongside Ricochet Anti-Cheat to keep matches fair and fun.
