Two months into 2025, and Activision’s main moneymaker is already on its fourth patch.Call of Dutyfans are going through one of themost played seasons in the franchise’s recent history.
As with any live service component of a game, things have beenfar from perfect, but the shorter update cycles have allowed core issues to get worked out in relatively short order.
Today’s update covers bothCall of Duty WarzoneandCall of Duty Black Ops 6, arguablythe franchise’s best titlesince 2019’sModern Warfarereboot (though that’s not saying much).
Notoriously absent from the list are freezes and soft-locks affecting the loadout screen and teammate reviving animations, and the Mountaineer armor not working without Specialist.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Patch Notes
The biggest changes for Black Ops 6 are the Ranked Play restrictions.Players can no longer use the KSV and PPSh-41 machine guns during ranked matches, and the same goes for the Cypher 091 assault rifle.
All three weapons were the source of many a headache as they felt hopelessly overpowered in certain situations. The KSV for example, while terrible beyond 20 meters, would melt through players within that range.

In the Gunsmith screen, players can now correctly equip all relevant blueprints to the XMG.
Zombies mode got unspecified stability improvements, but Treyarch has not elaborated beyond that.
Call of Duty Warzone Patch Notes
TheCall of Duty Warzonepatch today focuses on ranked play restrictions and important bug fixes, though some players are left wanting more.
In Ranked Play,the Gas Grenade has been removed as an equippable item. It appears to still exist in certain maps' loot pool though, so this is not the end of it.
Demotion protection now works correctly, after weeks of letting players drop in rank despite being active.
The Urzikstan map finally got its collision geometry looked at, ending the streak of cheeky exploits during matches.
Self-revives now appear properly on the squad widget for better situational awareness.
The Buy Station is working properly again, and limited stock items are accessible.
Last but certainly not least, Ranked Play achievements from previous seasons now carry over onto the next one.
