Sniping is always divisive as it’s fun to do, but not so much if you’re on the receiving end. you may make any rifle work, but the LR 7.62 is arguably the best and can kill opponents in a single hit from miles away.

I always want to be honest with my readers, so I must say that sniping is in a rough spot inBlack Ops 6. It’s a fun way to play but exceptionally difficult when the TTK is so fast.
Best Attachments for the LR 7.62
If the disclaimer hasn’t put you off, let’s get on with the build. We want every attachment toincrease our ADS speed for quick scoping, which narrows our choices to a few top candidates.
I also highly recommend running theGunfighter Wild Card, which allows you to useeight attachments instead of five. I debated a five-attachment build with Overkill for a second Primary weapon, but it defeats the point of the loadout, in my opinion.

We need every advantage we can get with the LR 7.62, andthe Suppressor is an excellent way to start, as it keeps us off the radar.
TheShort Barrelis “best in slot” as it’s the only barrel that gives any bonuses to shooting while moving. It might not sound like much, but your clips will thank you for it!
The LR 7.62 has a lot of idle sway by default, which you’re able to mitigate with thePrecision Handguard. The attachment also reduces Horizontal Recoil for easier follow-ups.
On that note, we useFast Mag II and Rapid Fireto reduce the delay between rounds. You’re usually dead if you miss, but these attachments do help.
TheQuickdraw Gripdramatically improves ADS speed, and theStrelok Laserincreases accuracy during the transition. These two attachments synergize perfectly, and it’s arguably not a quick scoping build without them.
Finally, theeighth attachment is a flex spot. I’ve gone with theLight Stockfor more mobility, but feel free to change it to a low-zoom Optic if you prefer.

Best Perks for the LR 7.62
There’s a surprising lack of Perks specifically for sniping. Because of this, a selection of blue Perks is the way to go, and we also get the Recon Specialty if we don’t mix colors.

Undetectable by enemy UAVs and Scout Pulses.
Forward Intel
See enemy footsteps, and ADS auto-pings enemies. Auto-pings have a cooldown.
Increases minimap range and shows direction indicators for revealed enemies.
Specialty: Recon
Briefly see through walls on spawn. HUD indicator when an enemy is outside your view.
Enemy UAVs can be a death sentence for a sniper, andGhost is a great way to counter those.
Forward Intel and Vigilancegive additional information, which suits a sniping playstyle where you must pick your engagements.
TheRecon Specialty was recently nerfed, but the wall hacks are still exceptionally strong. You also get even more intel with a high-alert HUD effect.
Best Equipment for the LR 7.62
you may play fast and loose with equipment, as nothing really screams “must have” for a sniper. Here’s my go-to setup, and it’s so versatile I even use it with myXM4 Loadout.
Brief health regeneration and refreshes Tactical Sprint.
Sticky Grenade with a set fuse.
Field Upgrade: Spring Mine
Deployable anti-infantry Mine.
I love theStim Shotas it provides a valuable burst of health. If it doesn’t work for you,Flash Grenades are another fantastic option, as the effect lasts for so long. Semtex is a solid throwable and has been aCall of Dutystaple for years.
Finally, theSpring Mine is a cheap and dirty way to score a few kills each round. I won’t tell if you won’t, and you could argueit protects your flankif you find a good sniping spot overlooking a map.
Call of Dutycampaigns are a mixed bag, but we thoughtthis year’s offering was pretty goodand worth a shot if you get bored with the camo grind.
