Wildcards are powerful tools in your loadout, and many bestow game-changing abilities that can alter your entire playstyle.
These gnarly upgrades aren’t created equally, and while none are terrible, some have more niche applications than others.

With this in mind, here’s every Wildcard from worst to best so you aren’t left behind in the ever-changing meta.
Two Isn’t Always Better Than One
Key Information
Equip any weapon in Primary and Secondary slots, excluding melee.
Level Requirement
Player Level 15
Overkill is usually a Perk inCall of Dutyand allows you to carrytwo Primary weapons.
It’s a powerful ability but a hard sell against more attractive Wildcards.

The biggest problem with Overkill is howmany weapons fill a generalist role. If you’re rocking an Assault Rifle or SMG, you are rarely going to switch weapons unless you’re caught reloading.
Another issue is the time to kill (TTK). Players die quickly inBO6, and it’s usually too fast for swapping weapons to be a viable tactic.

Overkill isn’t “bad” butpales compared to many stronger options. Beyond an SMG for Sniper Rifle support, you may want to give this one a miss.
If you’re swatting up on yourCall of Dutyknowledge before diving in, keep in mind thatBlack Ops 6requires a lot of space to install, regardless of platform.

For The Battlefield Tactician
Equip two different Field Upgrades simultaneously
Player Level 45
In a similar vein to Overkill, Prepper allows you tocarry two Field Upgradesinstead of one.
Field Upgrades range from powerful to extremely annoying. The Trophy System can make it almost impossible for your opponents to clear a zone and the Spring Mine is a skilless way to secure a few kills each game.

An additional Field Upgrade can be huge, althoughthe Wildcard has limitations.
Even with Prepper, your Field Upgrades still have a lengthy cooldown and offer no value during that time. Sure, double equipment means there’s less waiting between uses, but there’s still massive downtime to consider.
Prepper has utility, particularly in Objective modes, as long as you account for the drawbacks.
4Danger Close
Blow Your Opponents To Smithereens
Spawn with two Lethals
Player Level 38
Danger Close is a deadly Wildcard that allows you to spawn with apair of Lethal throwablesinstead of one.
Lethals are a big deal, and you’re able to easily score multiple kills per round with them in Objective modes like Domination.
I love runningDanger Close with Frag Grenadesbecause they give your opponents no time to react if you cook them.
That said, there are plenty of other great options, includingSemtex and Combat Axe, for those sweet clips. As long as you remember to use both Lethals each life, Danger Close is an excellent Wildcard with a ton of utility.
WhileBO6is new and shiny, the only downside is that killing with grenades won’t help yourcamo grind.

Black Ops 6 has broken all previous franchise sales records across platforms.
3Tactical Expert
Let The Flash Spam Commence
Spawn with three Tacticals
Tactical Expert lets you spawn withtwo extra Tacticals, which is a pretty big deal considering the items it includes.
Flashbangs are obnoxiousinBO6, and you may turn multiple fights in your favor if you’ve got three in your pocket.
Smoke is also pretty strong, and you can singlehandedly shut down sight lines. Another popular Tactical is the Stim Shot for more sustain, but you get the idea.
Tactical Expert is exceptional as long as you remember to use your additional throwables.I’m a big fan of the Stim Shot, and it almost feels unfair to win multiple engagements when I should have died long ago.
You can make the entire enemy team hate you if youspam Tacticals on Nuketown, and it’s a great map for leveling up your guns. I won’t tell if you won’t.
2Gunfighter
Stranger, Now That’s A Weapon!
Primary Weapon attachment capacity increased to eight
Player Level 33
I scoffed when I read the description of this Wildcard the first time, as it’s absolutely incredible. Gunfighter allows you to equipthree additional attachments to your primary weapon, bringing the total from five to eight.
The ability to equip so many attachments turns build crafting upside down. You have enough wiggle room to repair even the most impactful downsides to any gun.
Even weapons with crazy recoil can be turned into lasers with this Wildcard, and you cancreate a perfectly tailored gunto your preferences and playstyle.
Gunfighter’s only downside is how excellent many weapons are right out of the box. The mostpopular guns rarely need even five attachmentsto make them feel incredible.BO6attachments seldom come with downsides either, which is a massive change fromModern Warfare 3.
Don’t get me wrong, you will always get value from Gunfighter, and that’s everything we can ask for in a Wildcard. However, it’s less impactful on many meta picks, which means it narrowly loses the top spot to our winner.
1Perk Greed
The Game Changer
Equip a fourth Perk
Player Level 54
Perk Greed is a phenomenal Wildcard that allows you toequip four Perks simultaneously.
An additional Perk would be strong in anyCall of Dutygame, but it’s so much more inBO6, thanks to thePerk Set Bonuses.
You must choose three Perks of the same color to activate a bonus, but this can mean you miss out on something you really want.
Perk Greed allows you to bypass this and offers someutterly broken setups.
For example, you can run Ghost to avoid UAVs, Engineer to counter equipment, and Coldblooded for Killstreak immunity. These Blue Perks unlockRecon, which basically gives High Alert from Warzone and temporary Wallhacks. Finally, you can add something like Ninja with Perk Greed for quiet footsteps.
If that sounds broken, well, it is! There’s absolutely a case to be made for Gunfighter being the best Wildcard for some weapons. However,Perk Greed provides constant valueno matter what weapon you’re using or the activity.
