Sylvester Stallone Recalled Disturbing Childhood Moments With His Mother
As the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.Sylvester Stallonehas lived by this example everyday of his life starting from a fractured childhood which saw the star facing adversity behind the walls of his home. The Italian Stallion who was thrown curveballs at every juncture of his life thanks to a tough upbringing by his parents, recalled how these experiences left burning scars on his mental and physical well being.
Appearing in theUnwaxedpodcast hosted by both his daughters, theRockystar shared many heart-wrenching and tragic memories from his younger days which included facing constant mental abuse from his mother. When every child’s only desire was to feel secure and wanted especially in a safe place like one’s home, Stallone’s mother succeeded in doing the opposite.

“My mother would say ‘The only reason you’re here is because the hanger didn’t work’ or ‘Bouncing down those steps didn’t cause you to get lost’.”
In another scathing encounter,The Expendablesactor was further humiliated by his mother who once again emphasized his lack of worth.

“If there was really something wrong with your brain I would have definitely opened up the window and put you on the windowsill and let you freeze.”
Despite being emotionally and physically scarred through his childhood, Stallone’s desire for self-respect and validation was the foundation that led him on the quest to become the person he is today.
