The Emmy Awards 2024 came and went, and this year, too, the fan-favorite seriesBetter Call Saulfailed to get the true recognition it deserves.
Despite being a massively critically commended six seasons spin-off series forBreaking Bad, the show faced much worse treatment than the original series at the Primetime Emmy Awards this year as well.
As it turns out, just like last time and every single time before that till 2015, Bob Odenkirk was left once again on the nominated stage only, with other shows stealing the Emmys from him — the Emmys that he so genuinely deserves for reasons more than one.
In fact, to say that at this point,Better Call Saul‘s historic Emmy snubs have become a tragedy worthy of television would be nothing short of an understatement.

WhileBryan CranstonandAaron Paul‘sBreaking Badmay have been the original thoroughly acclaimed series, it was actually its spin-off series from 2015, i.e.Better Call Saul, that truly stole the show.
Thanks toBob Odenkirkand others’ massive hard work in making it, it earned its recognition among critics, ranking with 98% approval ratings from the critics at Rotten Tomatoes — which is notably 2% more thanBreaking Bad.
Yet, despite this critical acknowledgment by fans and die-hard critics alike, both the series as well as its lead actor failed to get their so truthfully deserved recognition at the Primetime Emmy Awards, all the way from 2015 to its recently held 2024 ceremony —year after year after year.
This year, too, Odenkirk andBetter Call Saulseason 6 got nominated for theOutstanding Drama Seriesand theOutstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Seriescategories respectively, along withRhea Seehorngetting nominated forOutstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
However, all three of them couldn’t make it out of the nomination stage, with the award for the lead actor, drama series, and supporting actress going toKieran CulkinforSuccession;Successionseason 4; andJennifer CoolidgeforThe White Lotusinstead, respectively.
Thus, to express their exasperation about the constant snubbing the fan-favorite series and actor have been facing for almost a decade now, fans once again took toX, saying:

At this stage, it has become beyond crucifying to watch the legendary actor and series get snubbed at the Emmys again and again. But then again: What can be done?

Some of the worst Emmy losses byBetter Call Saul
As mentioned before, this wasn’t the first time thatBetter Call Saulgot snubbed at the Primetime Emmy Awards. In fact, this game has been going on for as long as one can remember, i.e. ever since the series initially started in 2015.
But some of its Emmy losses are worse than all the others because the series was inevitably the most deserving of the accolade, and still lost it to some other show.
Like in 2016, when Season 2 of Bob Odenkirk’s drama was nominated forOutstanding Drama Seriesat the Primetime Emmy Awards, butGame of ThronesSeason 6 scored it away, which was a snub because of the declined quality ofGoTcontent after Season 4 that even fans can’t deny.
Or in 2019, whenBCSS04 was once again nominated for the same category. However, it got snubbedyet once againby none other thanGoTS08, which didn’t even come close to Bob Odenkirk’s performance in the entire season.
Then in 2022, the series got nominated for its best season to date, i.e. Season 6 for the same category. Yet, once again, this time, Season 3 ofSuccessionstole the show even as viewers called the series out for being too repetitive.
All in all, these are just a few examples out of all the‘every single time’the series got snubbed at the Emmy Awards: Of all its 30 nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards, it has made the record of not being acknowledged even once, with zero Primetime Emmys bagged to date.
If anything, to say that Bob Odenkirk has suffered more than evenBreaking Badcharacter Jesse Pinkman wouldn’t be an understatement, considering how the actor almost even died while shooting forBetter Call Sauland the Academy still refused to acknowledge his commitment.
