It’s been a long time coming, butBattlefield 6is finally available to pre-order following today’s bombastic multiplayer trailer.
EA’s biggest (and hopefully best) Battlefield release ever hasmade wavessince its official reveal last week, but while the bombastic visuals and destruction look exciting, some PC players were left wondering if all that Hollywood flair wouldn’t bring the average rig to its knees.

MUDANG: Two Hearts won’t run on a potato, but at least it doesn’t require an RTX 3080.
After a week of worrying, punctuated byleaks, investormeetings, and some good news about the game’s pricing scheme, we finally get some clarity on what machine you need to run Battlefield 6 properly.

Battlefield 6 System Requirements
Here is the full list of hardware requirements for Battlefield 6. One would assume that, given the scale of theBattlefield Labs playtestscarried out throughout the year, these are reasonably accurate and have been validated by extensive testing.
Recommended
64-bit Windows 10 or 11
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5-8400

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel Core i7-10700
AMD Radeon RX 5600XT or Nvidia RTX 2060

AMD Radeon RX 6700XT or Nvidia RTX 3060Ti
Version 12
55GB of available space
80GB of available space

EA has not explicitly revealed further technical details about Battlefield 6. However, given that it runs on an updated version of the Frostbite engine, it is safe to assume it will have Nvidia DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) upscaling technology, given that it was already implemented inBattlefield 2042.
The specific DLSS version included, as well as the potential inclusion of AMD’s FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) and Intel’s XeSS (Xe Super Sampling), remains unknown, though there are unofficial reports of the two being available during Battlefield Labs tests earlier this year.
Asking Too Much?
PC hardware requirements have become a touchy topic, as players and developers often struggle to see eye to eye over what recommended hardware is reasonable.
Borderlands 4has shocked players when it revealed its extremehardware requirementsahead of the September launch. Games need to keep up with the times visually, and progressively increasing hardware details are just part of it. However, making a game beautiful does not mean sacrificing optimization.
Upcoming Korean spy thrillerMUDANG: Two Heartshas photorealistic visuals running on Unreal Engine 5, but it still offers reasonable requirements, for example. Whether that will hold up come release is a different story, of course. TakeWuchang: Fallen Feathers, where the requirements seemed reasonable, but the game suffered fromawful performanceupon launch.
Whatever the case is for Battlefield 6, we will only know the exact outcome once the game comes out. Until then, I’ll be watching the multiplayer trailer on a loop and humming the Battlefield theme around the house.Battlefield 6 is scheduled to release on October 10 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
