Baldur’s Gate 3
How To Start The Quest
You can start this quest as soon as you reach Baldur’s Gate, you will see the Basilisk Gate Waypoint and the Basilisk Gate Barracks.Inside the barracks, you will find a woman named Lora who is begging the Flaming Fist to help her find her daughter Vanra, who is currently missing. If you agree to help her, she will send you to the Blushing Mermaid.
This quest goes hand-in-hand with the quest where youhelp the Hag Survivors. You will want to swing by the Elfsong Tavern (where you may change camp locations), and read the sign about the Hag Survivor Club. Doing this will allow you to complete both quests at once.

Finding Clues About Vanra
Once you reach the Blushing Mermaid, you will find someone upstairs known as Captain Grizly. If you speak to them, they will tell you that Lora never had Vanra and will ask you to kill Lora so that the child won’t be abducted by a stranger. If you trust Captain Grizly, you can go kill Lora. However, if you refuse, Captain Grizly will turn intoAuntie Ethel, the hag from Act 1.She will then disappear and leave you to fight her minions.
Helping The Hag Survivors
In order to save Vanra, you will need to help the Hag Survivors first. After completing that quest, you will be able to brew an item known as Hag’s Bane, which is the only way to kill Auntie Ethel while keeping Vanra alive. Here’s a short breakdown of that quest:
How To Save Vanra
Once you have the Hag’s Bane, you will want to head downstairs from where you met Auntie Ethel and enter into her hiding spot. From there, a battle will ensue, and you need to use your best thrower to throw the Hag’s Bane at her. Once it hits her, Vanra will be able to leave, and you can fight Auntie Ethel once and for all.Vanra will leave the area and safely find her mother, ending the quest.
If you do not use the Hag’s Bane on Auntie Ethel, and damage done to her will kill Vanra.
