With an RPG as popular asBaldur’s Gate 3, you’re naturally going to have an attached thriving modding community. Among the most downloaded mods onNexusover the past month are a face pack, a mod that improves tooltips and a terrain texture pack.
However, as any modder will know, an official patch can make a lot of mods suddenly incompatible with the updated version of the game. This can be frustrating for modders, especially as certain mods require other mods to function, causing a chain reaction where everyone’s work now requires maintenance.

Last week,Larian announcedit was working on a “robust, cross-platform plan for mod support. However, the release is still months off. Larian’s director of publishing Michael Douse said the studio would begin conversations with the modding community to keep them informed.
However, that didn’t seem enough to appease some people as Dousereleased a lengthy Twitter threadyesterday where he asked people to stop harassing developers about the topic.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players theorize a potential plot twist by Larian Studios that Halsin is only pretending to be an elf and is in disguise.
“We’ll be talking in depth about what our mod support will look like soon. Been working on it since launch. As always, we’ll discuss it in our way with our community,” Douse said. “Threats and toxicity against our devs and community teams will only harm the conversation. Please stop that.”
As the thread continued, Douse revealed that Baldur’s Gate 3 went from 2 million to 10 million players “in a very short space of time.” He urged everyone to avoid getting frustrated with developers, community teams and mod authors because it jeopardises the relationship between Larian and the player base.
“To finish, again, we can only be close if we can work close. If we cannot do that, and we have to draw distance, it’ll really suck for everyone, especially us and definitely you. Please help us work for the greater good of the millions of people who are involved, and chill.”
Baldur’s Gate 3 receivedPatch 6a couple of weeks ago, adding new kissing animations, a couple of new cinematics and a lot of bug fixes. We think a particular new interaction is thebest part of the new patch.
