Baldur’s Gate 3 Candles
This limited glass jar edition of Astarion’s fragrance is a complex blend, inspired by his chosen perfume. The top notes of citric, bergamot, and the sharpness of brandy, open aggressively, but soon mellow to a floral rosemary middle. A soft but masculine base of cedar, amber and musk gives a slight sweetness that keeps the blend grounded.
Complex and sweet, Gale’s blend of unusual components rests on strong base notes evoking a library of aged parchment and amber. Their smoky earth tones are enhanced by aromatic woods and subtle florals, building layers that support the sweet, tart top notes of persimmon fruit and oranges.

Contained in a large glass jar with approximately 40 hours of burn time, Shadowheart’s densely layered scent takes its time to unfold into a room. Opening with strong top notes of incense, and then with patience, a rich, complex floral blend emerges. Dark and earthy wood tones sit at the base, adding a hint of sweetness and weight to the fragrance.
Karlech’s smoky, sweet and strong fragrance hits with immediate notes of spices and woodsmoke. The heat is mellowed quickly by baked goods and vanilla notes, but never quite settles - leaving a subtle, metallic note of burning oil that drifts in and out.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Halsin’s Blend
Halsin’s blend comes with a rich fragrance on a strong, earthy base. The natural sweetness of honey mixes with the scent of aromatic woods, while the middle notes of moss and herbal top notes bring to mind the open, natural beauty of the forest after the rain.
Lae’zel’s smell barges in with a heavy, front-loaded blend that mixes warm spices with animal scents of leather and musk. Citric top notes and the sharpness of ginger lead aggressively but slowly blend into a warm, strong fragrance that fills the room.

An earthy but luxurious blend, Wyll’s scent pulls together the finer things while staying grounded in its base of natural wood and amber. Spices and wine add complexity and a hint of sweetness, with a smoky warmth lingering just under the surface.
Unsurprisingly, Minthara’s scent is a sharp, controlled fragrance that leads to a clean and purifying top note of incense and white florals followed by the dry woody scent of bamboo.Behind the attention-grabbing top notes, however, are soft and complex tones. The fragrance of beautiful but poisonous lilies and the deep petrichor scent of damp earth sit below, slowly revealing itself as the candle burns.

You’d assume after all that tracking across the Forgotten Realms and partaking in vicious bloody fights that our beloved companions would smell like crap. But once our loyal friends get back to camp and clean themselves up, Planeshift Candles has found an ingenious way to allow fans to get a whiff of what they would smell like based on their personalities and interests. Going by the descriptions of each scent for the origin character, the candle makers have truly hit the nail on the head when it comes to drawing in our imagination.
Astarion’s fragrance is a complex blend that suits him perfectly. Gales is sweet, with a blend of unusual components, ideal for his magical dilemma. Shadowheart’s layered fragrance takes its time to unfold into a room, as we know how long it takes her to open up. Karlach’s has a subtle metallic note of burning oil (due to the engine she has as a heart) that’s smoky, sweet and strong, describing her to a T, and Halsin’s earthy scent with middle notes of moss and herbal top notes plays into his complex Druid personality.
All the candles come in large glass jars unless you purchase the smaller jars for $15, and produce up to 40 hours of fragrant burning. Ideal for when you are playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and want to fully immerse yourself into the characters and deeply rich atmosphere. Don’t worry if you check out the Planeshift Candles website and find that some of the candles you want to pick up are sold out as they will be released in pre-order waves that will be frequently restocked.
