Baldur’s Gate 3
All Important Act 1 Choices
Act 1 has a few choices that will stick with you throughout the game. (It also has somegreat stuff you won’t want to miss.) Here’s a breakdown of the choices that will change the game.
Should You Side With Karlach Or The Paladins Of Tyr?
One thing you will come across early in Act 1 is Karlach’s predicament. Wyll will tell you that she is a devilish fiend who needs to be killed, and so will the Paladins of Tyr. However, Karlach swears that it is all a misunderstanding. If you side with anyone other than Karlach, she will die at the beginning of the game, and you won’t be able to recruit her. This means that you need to side with her if youwant to recruit her.
Should You Side With The Druids Or Goblins?
Something that most fans know what they want to do right away is whether they want to side with the Druids or the Goblins. If you are playing a good character, you will want to side with the Druids, which will let yourecruit Halsin. If you are playing an evil character, you want to side with the Goblins. This will allow you torecruit Minthara. No matter which one you go with, you will be able to continue the story; you’ll just have a lot of innocent blood on your hands if you side with the Goblins.
One of the later patches of the game allowed you torecruit Mintharawithoutkilling the Druids.

The Underdark Or Mountain Pass?
Takingthe Mountain Pass or the Underdark routeis a choice that doesn’t really change the game; however, if you don’t go back and take the other route, you will miss one of these routes. If you take the Mountain Pass, you will meet a few unique characters. The Underdark will allow you to engage with the Grymforge, which is a super cool place you could miss altogether.Overall, it doesn’t matter, since you can finish one route and travel back to take another, but if you don’t do that, you can miss out on entire areas.
Baldur’s Gate 3: 15 Best Quests, Ranked
Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of both main and side quests. Here are the best ones to complete.
All Important Act 2 Choices
Act 2 has some more important choices you will want to think through. The biggest choice in the entire game actually comes to a head in Act 2, and you will need to decide what to do. (It also has some stuffyou won’t want to miss.) Here’s a breakdown of all those choices and their outcomes.
Can You Trust Isobel?
Once you reach Last Light Inn during Act 2, you will meet Isobel. She is a priestess of Selune and is Ketheric Thorm’s daughter. When you first meet her, she will be visited by Marcus, an agent of the Absolute and Ketheric Thorm. You will then need to decide whether you trust Isobel or Marcus to tell you the truth. If you trust Isobel, you will need to kill Marcus. However, Isobel ends up telling the truth. If you don’t trust Isobel, you will need to help Marcus kidnap her. This will lead toher being taken to Moonrise Towersand eventually the Mind Flayer Colony below. Which, in turn, will lead to everyone at Last Light Inn being killed, includingJaheira.
While it may not seem like it at first, this may be one of the biggest choices you have to make. If you let Isobel die, you will lose out on Jaheira and Minsc as companions, the Tieflings and everyone at Last Light Inn will die, and you could potentially lead Shadowheart down a dark path.

What Should You Do With The Nightsong?
The final major choice in Act 2 is whether or not you should killthe Nightsong. This decision has major consequences for the game and Shadowheart in particular. The good route is to save the Nightsong from Shar. This will cause Shadowheart to turn from Shar and allow the Nightsong and Isobelto join your camp temporarilyand eventuallybecome your allies in the final battle. If you do not save her, you will make Shadowheart turn deeper into Shar’s embrace and miss out ontruly romancing the character.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Get Lae’zel To Raise The Githyanki Egg
Lae’zel is finally able to raise the Githyanki Egg.
All Important Act 3 Choices
Act 3 is the final act of the game and has some pretty major decisions to make. Some of the decisions are just ones that will have minor outcomes, while others change the entire course of the game. (You also can find someinteresting things you won’t want to missin this act.)
Should You Become A Mind Flayer?
Becoming a Mind Flayeris a choice that is made throughout the game. However, in Act 3, The Emperor will ask you to fully commit to becoming one. This is a choice that will change the way that the game ends. If you decide to become one, you will have the option to betray The Emperor and side with Orpheus without making someone else a Mind Flayer. You will also have some amazing abilities. However, there are characters that will look at you differently for this decision.
Should You Make A Deal With Raphael?
Raphael is a cunning devil who is more than willing to make bargains with you. The question iswhether you should trust him. If you do trust him, he will be given the Crown of Karsus, meaning Gale will have a pretty bad ending. You will be given theOrphic Hammerright away, but this is something you can obtain later. This means that there isn’t really a reason to make the deal other than to save time.If you don’t make the deal, you can obtain the Orphic Hammer from his realm, the House of Hope. You can then decide on the next major decision.
Should You Side With The Emperor Or Orpheus?
The next big decision is whether The Emperor orOrpheusshould be trusted. After learning the truth about who The Emperor was when he was a mortal, it can be hard to look at him the same way again. This may make you want tofree Orpheus(which you need to Orphic Hammer from the last decision to do).The truth is that who you side with only matters for one specific reason. You need a Mind Flayer to control the Absolute, meaning if you side with Orpheus, one of you will need to become a Mind Flayer. However, siding with Orpheus will give you a lot of background information about the Githyanki that you may not have known. This is a choice that really is up to you, but it does change the way the ending plays out. If you’re a Mind Flayer, you will need to escape Baldur’s Gate. If Orpheus is a Mind Flayer, he will ask you to kill him. If you side with The Emperor, you won’t have to decide.
What To Do With The Netherbrain
The final (and biggest) decision to make is what to do with the Netherbrain. After assembling your allies, you find out that the Elder Brain is actually a Netherbrain. You will need to fight it to save Baldur’s Gate. Once it has been defeated, you will need to decide what to do with it. you’re able to control the Netherbrain and dominate the world, or you can kill it and save the world. If you control it, whatever character is currently a Mind Flayer will be killed (unless it is you). You can then take control of it and your final cutscene is you controlling it. If you kill it, you will be able to see how all your companion’s stories conclude, and you will see theepilogue.
