After becoming a full-fledged assassin inAssasin’s Creed Mirage, Basim will have access to the first two tools in the game. While these first two tools are predetermined and given to the player, the remaining four tools are unlocked at whatever pace and order the player would like after reaching a certain point in the main story.

Unlocking tools early is very helpful, as more tools will give players more options on how to handle a situation. While every tool has its use, some are simply more effective across the board than others.

The torch is the most straightforward and simple tool players get and is one of the starting tools for Basim. At first, this tool will be seen as nothing more than a light source to light up dark areas, but it does have a few other uses for those who are creative with it.

Basim has an infinite supply of torches that can easily be thrown to make a noise and distract or lure a guard. These torches are also on fire and can be used to ignite anything flammable that they hit. This is the only tool that can’t be upgraded or altered in any way.

The trap would be an excellent first tool if the game required you to get it before other tools. The trap is great for dealing with groups of enemies in a few different ways, depending on your upgrades. Along with the activation upgrade, this tool can quickly subdue multiple guards art different locations as long as the traps are placed right.

The trap only falls behind other tools as its area of effect can be walked out of by guards before detonation, and other tools can handle these same sorts of situations better. It’s not very rare you’ll be dealing with enemies that are clumped together while patrolling, and other tools on this list are better for handling to usual layout of guards.

4Noisemaker

The noisemaker is better suited for less quiet approaches to stealth. While it can be an effective way of distracting and even weakening guards, it does have a higher chance of altering other nearby guards to a disturbance.

The flee in terror upgrade is by far the best upgrade for this tool, as it will remove guards from the environment just like killing, just in a nonlethal way. While these tools can also weaken affected enemies, it isn’t always the best quick-throw option for combat. The noisemaker can be upgraded to do some fire damage to nearby enemies, but it doesn’t do nearly as much as other tools.

3Smoke Bomb

The smoke bomb is a very versatile tool in that it can be used both offensively and defensively. When large groups of enemies can quickly overwhelm you, or a non-lethal escape is needed, the smoke bomb will concealBasimand give you more than enough time to escape and get a head start on the pursuing guards.

This tool can also be used offensively, blinding guards and letting Basim get multiple stealth kills in what is normally a wide-open area. The smoke from these bombs can also be upgraded to become flammable, which pairs nicely with a thrown torch for some AOE fire damage. Some of the later upgrades for smoke bombs can make the smoke heal Basim while he’s moving around within or even make guards forget they were chasing Basim, leading to an even easier escape.

The Blowdart is another very versatile tool that can make both lethal and non-lethal stealth situations a lot easier. This tool can incapacitate and even kill enemies from a range while also firing off multiple darts quickly to take care of a few close-together guards.

The Berserk dart is also incredibly helpful, as it not only takes out a guard or two but also causes a huge distraction from nearby enemies. With a few Berserk darts, players can cut the number of guards in a restricted area in half before getting involved themselves. The initial sleep darts can also be upgraded to put enemies in an unrecoverable sleep, which mechanically is the same as killing them but will make completing non-lethal contracts much easier.

1Throwing Knife

Throwing Knives can be incredibly efficient at killing enemies quietly from a range. Pairing this tool with the right upgrades and skills can make players even more deadly in stealth. These knives also have the Corrode Body upgrade, which can kill enemies from a distance and automatically get rid of the body, making sure you don’t get discovered moving or leaving a dead body.

TheKnife Recovery skilllets players pick up knives after a successful hit on an enemy. With this skill, players can clear out entire outposts with only a single knife. While players will need to ensure they are always aiming for the head, these knives can quickly become the most deadly option in your arsenal.
