After 11 long seasons on screen,The Walking Deadseries came to an end in 2022. But the characters of Rick Grimes and Michonne had left the story a while before its conclusion. Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira went on to join the spin-off show,The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. The limited series recently had its season finale, and now fans have some questions.

The Ones who live

While the finale has given us a pretty satisfactory ending, it does not mean that it is the end of the story or that the audience is ready to say goodbye to such important characters in the franchise. Most importantly, the biggest question on everyone’s mind is whether Lincoln’s Rick and Gurira’s Michonne have any plans to continue their story with a second season.

WillThe Walking Dead: The Ones Who LiveHave a Second Season?

The finale ofThe Walking Dead: The Ones Who Livegave us a reunion for family Grimes. After taking down theCivic Republic Military (CRM), both Rick and Michonne come back to their two children and hug it out as a family. But does that mean that these two characters are done fighting? Well, not completely. When asked if there will be another season to the limited show, showrunner Scott Gimple toldEW:

“It’s definitely going to go somewhere, but it might just be in my brain. It might just be my fan fiction.”

Whether we get a second season forThe Ones Who Liveor not will be up to Gimple, Lincoln, and Gurira, but fans will surely be excited to have more stories added to the canon.

Andrew Lincoln Has One Condition to Return For Another Season

ForAndrew Lincoln, it was thrilling to reunite withDanai Guriraand make a show that has been loved by so many. And to get to reunite the Grimes family was just the cherry on top. But does he want to return for another season? Well, while he does follow the “never say never” rule, he does have a condition. For Lincoln, the story would have to be thrilling and exciting so that it is fun for him as well as the fans.

“There are other very important characters in the universe that are still wandering around and alive that I think it might be quite exciting to have them breathe the same air and see how long they survive together. But it’s a difficult one. It would have to be like this, a really exciting story.”

He further said that if the story comes from Gurira or Gimple’s brain, then he will definitely consider his options.

“That was thrilling that we did episodes and sequences that I’m intensely proud of and we haven’t seen before. If that were to come out of Gimple’s or Danai’s brain, and it was irresistible, then I think that there’s infinite chance that it might happen again. But I don’t know when.”
