WhilePokemonbattles can consist of levying whatever attacks have the highest damage at your opponent, there is much more complexity to its mechanics. One thing players should keep a close eye on is whether an attack is physical or special.
20 Coolest Shiny Pokémon, Ranked
There are hundreds of shiny Pokémon throughout the series, but which is the coolest? This list can help players decide.
The damage dealt by a Pokemon will vary depending on its Attack stat (for physical attacks) and Special Attack stat (for special attacks). Playing to a Pokemon’s strengths can be the difference between a quick success or a resounding defeat. Players trying to find the Pokemon with the best Special Attack stat, look no further!

This article will not include Mega Pokemon, Ultra Beasts, Legendary Pokemon, or Mythical Pokemon. If these were factored in, they would fill nearly every entry on the list.
10Ursaluna (Bloodmoon)
Peat Pokemon
While Ursaluna was introduced inPokemon Legends: Arceus, its Bloodmoon form was introduced inPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Teal Mask DLC. Despite being a relatively new addition to the game’s massive lineup of monsters, it is already been recognized as one of the best fighters in the franchise.
This Pokemon is a Ground and Normal-type, which gives it more than a few weaknesses leaving it vulnerable to devastating attacks. If players manage to get hits in on their opponent, however, Bloodmoon Ursaluna can hold its own thanks to its whopping135 Special Attackstat. This Pokemon doesn’t learn many special attacks by leveling up, so players will need to equip it using TMs. While this is a slight setback, there’s little that can withstand a hit from Bloodmoon Ursaluna’s Hyper Beam or Earth Power moves.

Special Attack
Special Defense
9Flutter Mane
Paradox Pokemon
The Paradox Pokemon, first introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, are all powerful, but Flutter Mane is on a whole different level. Flutter Mane is an impressive Pokemon from start to finish. This Pokemon has an incredibleSpecial Attack (135), Special Defense (135), and Speed (135). It’s so good, in fact, that it was banned from competitive play.
There are a few reasons for this, one being the staggering stat totals of the Pokemon, but the most impactful is likely its dual Ghost and Fairy-typing. These two types paired together mean that Flutter Mane only has two weaknesses (Ghost and Steel-type attacks) and three complete immunities, with Dragon, Normal, and Fighting-type moves dealing zero damage to this powerhouse.

8Hatterene
Silent Pokemon
Hatterene is a great Pokemon! Its Psychic and Fairy-typing, enormousSpecial Attack stat (136), and access to powerful special moves (like Psychic and Dazzling Gleam) make it a force to be reckoned with.
The Pokemon was first introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield and was a standout in the game’s lineup. The thing possibly holding it back from true greatness is its low Speed stat, but this can be compensated by a good move set.

7Darmanitan (Zen Mode)
Blazing Pokemon
Zen Mode Darmanitan is an interesting Pokemon. The base form, Darmanitan, has a hidden ability called Zen Mode. When the Pokemon’s HP drops below 50%, it can change into Zen Mode, changing both its stats and typing.
The Pokemon gains a considerable amount of Special Attack, Defense, and Special Defense and also gains a Psychic-type as well. This Pokemon has quite a few resistances but struggles to utilize its Special Attack stat effectively due to its limited access to special attacks.

6Aegislash (Blade Forme)
Royal Sword Pokemon
Aegislash has two forms, Blade Forme and Shield Forme. It can transform into these different states based on the moves it uses. Its stats change with each form, with Blade Forme sitting at a staggering140 Special Attackand also 140 Attack.
Because of its dual Steel and Ghost-typing, the Pokemon is immune or resistant to 12 out of the 19 types in the game. This Pokemon should strike fear in any trainer willing to face off against it.
5Wishiwashi (School Form)
Small Fry Pokemon
The Small Fry Pokemon was introduced in Pokemon Sun and Moon’s Alola Region. Wishiwashi’s School Form boasts incredible stats all around. With a stat total of 620, this tiny fish comes inhigher than many Mega Pokemon!
The Pokemon will stay in its School Form as long as it stays above 25% health, and this isn’t hard to accomplish with stats like these. As long as trainers equip this fighter with some hefty moves andavoid its type weaknesses(Electic and Grass-type), they should have a powerhouse Pokemon ready for any battle.
4Iron Moth
This Pokemon is a futuristic form of Volcarona! Iron Moth is the second Paradox Pokemon to make this list but, while it has a higher Special Attack stat (140), it isn’t quite as good as Flutter Mane.
This Pokemon is a Fire and Poison-type, giving it a good amount of resistance but also a massive vulnerability to Ground-type moves. It is still a great Pokemon and has access to an impressive lineup of special moves, like Overheat and Sludge Wave!
3Chandelure
Luring Pokemon
Chandelure is a Ghost and Fire-type Pokemon from the Unova Region. It has good stats, but the clear standout in its skills comes from its high Special Attack stat of 145.
Chandelure’s typing gives it an impressive list of resistances (Grass, Ice, Poison, Steel, Fairy, and Bug-type moves) and complete immunity to Normal, Fire, and Fighting-type moves.
Stag Beetle Pokemon
Vikavolt is a menacing-looking Pokemon. For it having as high of a Special Attack as it does, it’s one of the weaker Pokemon on this list. This doesn’t mean it is useless and it still has a decent stat total!
Its Electric and Bug-typing give quite a few resistances, but it has a smaller-than-average Speed stat for an Electric-type and limited access to special moves. This makes the Stag Beetle Pokemon tough to use effectively.
Coral Pokemon
Cursola technically ties for first place with Vikavolt and Chandelure, but it definitely deserves its spot on this list. Its Special Attack stat isn’t the only highlight of its lineup as it has a pretty stacked Attack and Special Defense as well.
While it may not have access to the most special moves, its Attack stat means it can do nearly as well with its physical capabilities too! ItsGhost-typemeans it has two immunities (Normal and Fighting-type moves).
