From Mythical Swords fit to carve up old Gods, to almighty Hammers to pound invaders into the ground, the Soulsborne titles certainly have no shortage of fierce and fantastical weapons.
Of course, while every weapon is viable in its own right, more often than not, some are just objectively more powerful.

10 Most Broken Spells In Soulsborne Games
Any budding mage looking to take out the horde of Soulsborne bosses should take a look at these broken spells first.
Whether this is simply due to high base damage, great scaling or even ridiculous movesets, anyone choosing to pick one of these monsters is going to wipe the floor with every boss that comes their way.

So rest at your bonfires, refill those flasks, and get ready to heave those unwieldy lumps of metal against the otherworldly horrors that stand in your way.
10Black Knight Halberd
The Darkroot Destroyer
Appears In
Dark Souls 1
Description
Halberd of the black knights who wander Lordran
Stat Requirements
32 Strength, 18 Dexterity
Dark Root Basin, Kiln of the First Flame
If you’re lucky enough to get this drop at the beginning ofDark Souls, well, you won’t have to worry about anything else for the rest of your adventure. Yep. This weapon really is that strong.
To truly get the most out of this weapon, it’s best to try andget your Strength and Dexterity as high as possibleto make use of the Halberd’s dual scaling.

In addition, you may upgrade this weapon to +5 simply with Twinkling titanite, which is arguably the most available resource early on in Ds1. Two-hand this beastly weapon and watchas the bosses fold before you.
9Sellsword Twinblades
Death by a Thousand Cuts
Dark Souls 3
Paired scimitars used by certain sellswords. The scimitars' sharp blades make for effective slashing attacks.
10 Strength, 16 Dexterity
Road of Sacrifices or Mercenary Starter Weapon
Similarly to the previous weapon, the Sellsword Twinblades are incredible, not just because of their speed and power, but because of how early you get them in the game.

You can eitherstart as the Mercenary Class and get these as your starter weaponsor find them early on in the Road of Sacrifices.
These scimitars have a brilliant 2h slashing moveset and scale really nicely with dexterity. On top of that, you can buff and infuse them to suit your specific build. There is a reasontop speedrunnersuse these blades to get throughDark Souls 3as quickly as possible.

8Sword of Night and Flame (Pre-Patch)
A Dance of Fire and Fury
Elden Ring
Storied sword and treasure of Caria Manor. One of the legendary armaments.
12 Strength, 12 Dexterity, 24 Intelligence, 24 Faith
Caria Manor
The Sword of Night and Flame, to this day, is a fantastic and very versatile weapon, with its unique magical stance separating it from the crowd. But of course, as you might have guessed, it used to be so much better.
This weapon, when fully upgraded, wouldshred through Endgame bosses like Malenia with ease with a great fiery sweep attack. And you didn’t even have to invest a massive amount of stats into it either, as the scaling with the skill was pretty minimal.
10 Most Unfair Soulsborne Boss Fights
These fights are frustrating for all the worst possible reasons.
What’s more, you can get this weapon early on by rushing to the Caria Manor, allowing you to crush everything in the game with minimal effort. While this weapon is still pretty decent, now other options that leave this blade in the dust.
7Moonlight Greatsword
“Ah, You Were At My Side All Along”
All FromSoft titles
The blade of this greatsword shines like the brilliant rays of the moon.
I had to include this in the list somehow. The Moonlight Greatsword is a staple in every single FromSoftware title, and of course, its power lives up to its legendary status.
Once upgraded on a character with good strength and intelligence, this weapon is incredibly versatile. You can either utilise its basic greatsword moveset or make use of its various special attacks to shred your foes from a distance.
While the sword changes from game to game, if you’re playing a mage character and want a good weapon to use alongside your spells, definitely don’t sleep on the Moonlight Greatsword.
6Dragonslayer’s Greataxe
Me No Think, Me Smash!
Melted iron greataxe that once formed part of the Dragonslayer Armour.
40 Strength
Soul Transition with Soul of Dragonslayer Armour
A ridiculously huge hunk of iron, infused with unstable amounts ofdragonslayinglightning. I mean, what’s not to love, right? To those who love investing all their stats in strength and bonking their enemies on the head, this is a must pick.
Not only does this weapon have crazy strength scaling, but it also has a ridiculously strong lightning weapon skill that has a huge amount of Hyper Armour. Normal attacks from enemies won’t faze you as you unleash a thunderous slam upon them.
While it may be one of the heaviest weapons with a rather slow moveset, the sheer damage this axe can dish out may sway even the most committed straight sword user. Don’t think, just swing.
5Northern Regalia
A Fusion of Blades
Demon’s Souls
Old symbol of the King of Boletaria. The shape of this blade unites both Soulbrandt and Demonbrandt as one.
20 Strength, 14 Dexterity, 12 Magic, 12 Faith
Blacksmith Ed, using Soulbrandt and Demonbrandt
You won’t encounter this devilishly brilliant blade until the end of yourDemon’s Soulsadventure, but it’s certainly a sight to behold, and will honestly carry you through New Game+ should you wish to continue.
This sword is a combination of two others, the Soulbrandt and the Demonbrandt, and, interestingly enough, doesn’t scale with any of your stats, meaning you can dump the rest into your health. You don’t need to worry about upgrading or enchanting this weapon either! Neat!
And if its initial damage wasn’t enough, you can get anAttack Rating of 540 depending on whether you have Pure Black or Pure White Character Tendency. While this may be a bit of a chore for some, the payoff is definitely worth the grind.
4Whirligig Saw
Did Anyone Order Pizza?
Bloodborne
A trick weapon crafted by the workshop heretics, the Powder Kegs, and weapon of choice of the Old Hunter Valtr, the Beast Eater.
18 Strength, 12 Skill
Nightmare’s Church
Ever wanted to use a chainsaw in a Soulsborne game? Well, this is pretty much as close as you’re going to get.
The transformed Whirligig Saw inBloodborneis an absolute menace, with its grinding special attack capable of stunlocking bosses into oblivion. And if you’re against a large NPC that doesn’t move around too much, you can safely deplete their entire health bar without worry.
And even its normal attacks are pretty strong too, if you find yourself needing to dodge a little more often. Once you’ve upgraded the “Pizza Cutter” to +16, it will eventually getan S scaling in Strength to unlock that last beautiful bit of extra damage.
Hey, and it’s super fun to use too! What more could a hunter ever want?
3Ice Rapier
Poke, Poke, Poke
Dark Souls 2
Rapiers wielded by sorcerers of Eleum Loyce, imbued with a magic that is released with a strong attack.
13 Strength, 15 Dexterity
Dropped by Rampart Soldiers in the Crown of the Ivory King DLC
While all rapiers inDark Souls 2are a little bit broken, the Ice Rapier in particular is certainly the strongest.
What makes this weapon so great is that it simply attacks so quickly and barely loses any physical damage when you infuse it. In addition, you’re able to quite happily use this weapon not only in PvE against pretty much every boss, but also in PvP too!
And to those who think just poking over and over again may be a little boring, this little toothpick is also capable of unleashing a huge magical icy spear to crush foes from a distance. With this weapon at your side, no matter where your enemy stands, you’ll be prepared.
2Rivers of Blood
Rip and Tear
Weapon of Okina, swordsman from the Land of Reeds. A cursed weapon that has felled countless men.
12 Strength, 18 Dexterity, 20 Arcane
Dropped by Bloody Finger Okina in the Mountaintops of the Giants
Oh, Rivers of Blood. Do you makeElden Ringa little bit too easy? Maybe. But we’re here for damage and cheese, and oh boy, does this weapon have that in spades.
Not only does this katana inflict a ridiculous amount of bleed damage, but it’ll set your foes ablaze too. This weapon will suit anyone who may be running a Dex or arcane build, and can be used right up close or from a distance, too.
If you want a seriously easy time, the Corpse Piler Weapon Skill will shred any boss who dares get too close, inflicting massive amounts of bleed buildup. And, of course, due to its power, the Rivers of Blood has seen its fair share of nerfs, too.
While some may see those using this weapon and sigh, there’s no doubt that this weapon will easily carry you through the whole game and beyond.
1Chaos Zweihander
Become Giant Dad
One of the gigantic straight greatswords. As the name suggests, the Zweihander is held with two hands, but its wielder must still be inhumanly strong.
24 Strength, 10 Dexterity
In the Graveyard near Firelink Shrine
While the Zweihander by itself is a pretty incredible weapon that can quite happily carry you through the game, you can unleash its true potential by infusing it with chaos.
But what’s so good about chaos? Well, when you obtain this infusion, you can pretty much ignore your physical stats like Strength and Dexterity and funnel everything you have into your Health and Stamina.
You will get a good heap of fire damage, and on top of that, the more humanity you have, the more powerful you will become, with a cap of 10 humanity. Just be careful not to die and lose it all.
Additionally, you can get the Zweihander right at the start of the game and infuse it with whatever buff you want. Lightning is great here, too. While this may not be the most complicated weapon to use, believe me, you’ll have a whale of a time blasting your way through any invader orboss who dares stand in your way.
