MultiVersus has a plethora of characters and a roster that continues to grow. Each of the characters in the game feels completely original and belongs to a class, but how they represent that class is distinct. Some characters rely on armoring themselves and dealing big damage up close, while others deal with attacks from afar. The game even introduces support characters who prove helpful for players in multiplayer mode.
This is not a traditional tier list, as it can be difficult to gauge characters with constant updates and changes. It will be based on characters that are the most enjoyable to play, don’t cause much frustration in their kit, and are most idiosyncratic.

1010/10 Reindog
Reindog is a completely new and original character in the MultiVersus realm. Reindog is a fan favorite not because of his ability to stack up massive damage but because of his adorable, cuddly allure. His stylistic design makes the frantic matches have a pinch of adorableness. Reindog is also one of the best support characters in the game, and in two-versus-two settings, he can provide a volley of multiple enemy obstacles. Using him correctly is bound to give your allies a helping hand.
Reindog begins to fall flat in one-versus-one situations as he cannot do consistent damage. He also does not have as much kill potential as other characters.

99/10 Iron Giant
Iron Giantis huge in comparison to the rest of the roster in the game. He also has some of the most powerful moves available in MultiVersus. Iron Giant can be versatile. At higher levels–in one-versus-one–he can be a peril to opponents and deal quick damage using his Perks. Iron Giant is also useful in two-versus-two as he can use his projectiles to zone his enemies and create an opening for himself and his teammates.
The biggest problem with Iron Giant is that he can be easily juggled by several combos because of his size. Players need to be fairly experienced with him to deal out damage. He is, however, worth becoming a main after you’ve practiced his abilities.

88/10 Steven Universe
Steven Universe has a kit that heavily centers around zoning enemies. He can summon shields that he can go through, but enemies can not. By using his shields effectively, Steven can create situations where he can deal damage and remain untouched by opponents. Steven can also summon a watermelon ally to fight by his side, creating high tension for inexperienced opponents.
Steven can have trouble killing enemies, but he is viable in all game modes. He takes time to learn, but if learned well, he can be a nuisance for opponents.

77/10 Bugs Bunny
Bugs Bunnyhas a memorable cartoon-based fighting style. He can summon a safe that he draws in the air to fall on opponents. Bugs can make a giant missile appear that he can ride on and deal big damage. He can also dig holes underground to reach different spots or send items through those tunnels. The number of combinations in his kit is a playground for players to explore.
Bunny is a menace to every character on the opposing side. However, once opponents become familiar with his kit, he can be easily juked out with the right counter pick.

66/10 Superman
Superman is the most armor-heavy character in the game. He can do most of his attacks without fearing much retaliation from enemies. The hits he lands do huge damage, and for a bruiser, Superman is not as slow as most players would expect. He can make enemies slower or freeze, which is useful in two-versus-two situations. Though good in doubles, his freezing is useless in one-versus-one.
Superman’s main problems come from his inability to use some of his abilities effectively in all situations. He can still be countered with quick characters who have armor-breaking capabilities.
55/10 Shaggy
Shaggywill probably be one of the first character choices for several new MultiVersus players. Shaggy is easy to pick up, and his kit is useful as it provides many ways to deal with opponents. He also has the power to charge up an ability that makes him look like he’s going super Saiyan. Once fully charged, he can do super moves that deal heavy damage–most of them will kill opponents at fairly low health.
In terms of enjoyment, his kit isn’t as interesting as other characters. Despite this, it doesn’t stop Shaggy from being the best at showing game mechanics to new players.
44/10 Harley Quinn
Harley Quinn proves to be the clown princess–that she is–in MultiVersus. She is an assassin class, which means she lands lethal attacks but also takes heavy damage in the process. This does not matter, as Harley can fluidly move around the map. Her abilities, like her jack-in-the-box type bomb, allow her to zone enemies, which she can set up for big combos.
Players that enjoy the process of learning combos and are better at understanding quick-moving characters will love Harley.
33/10 Batman
Batman has a throwable Batarang that is by far one of the best projectiles in the game. If Batman’s Batarang hits an opponent, it can lead to a string of quick combos. His combos are some of the most satisfying to land as every hit pleasantly locks with the last. Batman also has a bomb that he can attach to enemies using various attacks. Seeing your enemies run in fear while you fling yourself around is wildly fun.
Batman does have a difficult learning curve as some of his moves (like grappling hook) can be easily countered. Players must understand how to go in and out of combat while playing with Batman.
22/10 Finn The Human
Finn the Humanis one of the best characters that the game has to offer mechanically. He is not the easiest to pick up, but players can get the hang of him if they spend 10 minutes reading through his kit. Finn has an exciting set-up as he can buy buffs. The buffs help him reduce knockback and get faster. He can also buy a BMO that can do significant damage.
The best thing about Finn is that every move in his kit feels viable in one situation or another. He can additionally charge many of his attacks while moving, giving us uninterrupted action.
11/10 Morty
Morty did not disappoint in terms of kits and powerful moves. He can be tough to use as his killing moves aren’t as apparent as other characters. Once players learn Morty’s down air attack and how to time the third hit of his side ground attack, they’ll be racking up kills.
Morty can create a lot of space as he has a gun that shoots snake-summoning orbs. Morty can also summon a UFO that flies upwards and looks fantastic on the battlefield. He can shoot himself through a portal that increases his projectile speed. His kit is the most interesting the game has to offer and while figuring it out is very tricky, it’s also super fun.
